Some people confuse the term brand with fame!
That’s not a hard mistake to make because the term “Brand” itself is confusing. It can be used in so many different contexts and generate a different meaning every time. Is it a mark, a hot poker, a logo, a business, a moral, fame or an idea?
Well we’re talking business here but there’s so many variations of the business discipline:
Brand, Branding, Brand design, Brand DNA, Brand advocate, Personal branding, Corporate branding, Online branding, Brand identity, Brand structure, Brand strategy, Brand generation, Audio branding
The fact is that although each one has something to do with the next, each one is actually quite individual and none of them guarantee business growth, success or fame. However that’s not to say that each one won’t help your business.
If I ask you to think of a brand, what do you think of?……
Was it Apple, Nike, Coke, McDonalds or some other big famous corporate company.
All big brands are world famous businesses. Fame is actually the first thing we associate with them and when creating a business for ourselves, we think of creating a brand as a route to success and fame.
Fame however doesn’t come over night so ideally what you want to focus on is brand design.
Lets ask the question again. If I ask you to think of a brand, what do you think of? Was it Apple, Nike, Coke or McDonalds? Or was it….
A brand in its true state of the word takes times to build and to be honest perfecting a brand design does as well but a brand design is more achievable, functional and beneficial to any business at any stage.
Branding alone won’t make you famous but a brand design may help you get there.
