20 years ago:
– We never thought we’d be ditching the library for google
– We’d be shopping online instead of in a shop
– We’d be streaming music as oppose to buying it hardcopy
All the above has had an impact on our lifestyles and with online streaming of TV programs becoming more popular, maybe the way we watch television will soon change as well.
The internet has given us the freedom and possibility to refine our tastes with so many options so much so, that we can have what we want, when we want.
BBC Iplayer has become incredibly popular and convenient and all new TV’s are smart TV’s with apps to access online streaming services so we can view specifically what we want when we want.
We’re pretty familiar with these brands, and regard them as institutions but where the future of television brands maybe changing is with the introduction of new players.
In particularly this article I read here :
Netflix continues its attack on premium cable with Weinstein Company deal
What google did for the internet, amazon did for shopping and itunes for music, could Netflix do for our TV?
Will all television and broadcasting brands be online as a standard in the future?
What do you think?
