As of late, I’ve been watching “Gordon Ramseys Kitchen Nightmares USA”.
For those who don’t know, its where infamous chef Gordon Ramsey swoops in to help a dying restaurant and save the business.
Watching the show it’s pretty clear to see that every restaurant featured suffers from one thing….a lack of change.
Most of the restaurants featured have emotionally attached, burnt out owners, clinging onto the good old days. In turn both the owner and the business go stale and both begin to suffer.
It’s easy to watch them on TV and clearly see their mistakes but as a business owner you can turn the table around and ask yourself the same question…….have I changed anything in my business?
As self-employed people we’re busy working, marketing and pulling in sales, and change can be overlooked so much so that you may find yourself ending up in a stale situation. It could be that the business becomes stale with success or maybe you yourself become stale and burnt out.
The saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” may come to mind but the truth is that no formula lasts forever.
Whether you’re business is booming or breaking ask yourself……
What have I changed this year?
If the answer is nothing then make a change. You never know it could double your profits.
