A WIP ( a work in progress) is often used by designers to showcase a piece of work during its creative incarnation. They can be incredibly popular pieces of work, sometimes even more popular then the final document because:
- A WIP shows hidden insight into a creative process, one which is not normally seen by any one else.
- Its showcases a level of skill used to produce the work
- It builds and tells a story about a piece of work making it much more personal
A WIP is actually a great marketing tool that uses mystery, information and entertainment to build a brand and make a sale.
